Jay
Bharatee Oil Expeller
During
1996-97 Sahabhagi Vikash Abhiyan (S.V.A.) distributed few
sets of manual oil expellers known as Jay Bharatee Oil
Expeller to a few voluntary organizations in Kalahandi,
Bargarh, Balangir and Nuapada districts for demonstration
purpose. The villagers in west Orissa have found this
expeller to be very useful, economic and most convenient.
Looking at the demand from the villagers S.V.A. has decided
to do marketing of it in large numbers and we hope all the
voluntary organizations working for community based Natural
Resource Management, shall promote it in their area of
operation.
Details of the Jaya Bharatee Oil Expeller:

Using
this expeller any oil seed such as Mahua seed (Tol),
sesame, Mustard, Neem, Karanj, Castor, Groundnut,
Sunflower, Niger Safflower etc. can be expelled.

Percentage
of oil extraction is same or more here than the
mechanized oil expeller.

Only
two persons are required to operate it. It can be
installed in a small veranda of 6ft*6ft and 8ft height.

In
one day (8 hours) about 350 kilogram of oil seed can be
expelled.

The
oil derived from this expeller is filtered and cleaner
than the oil derived in mechanized expeller.

Each
oil expeller will be able to provide meaningful
employment to three persons.

The
villagers who have been using it are so much impressed
by it that now there is a demand from almost all the
nearby villages.
No
one is in panic for DROPSY in the villages where we have
supplied the Jaya Bharatee expellers. Health conscious
individuals are now asking us for supply of it even for
